Piles- Did You Know ?

Know Piles

The Anal passage has a network of small veins and blood vessels. When these blood vessels get inflamed or filled with more blood, it forms a lump of tissue inside, outside or around the bottom of the anus that can vary in size and is termed as Piles or Hemorrhoids.

Factors responsible for Piles

The increased pressure or straining of the lower rectum can cause piles. This straining can be caused due to the following reasons like

  • Adding pressure to pass the stool
  • Lifting heavy weights occasionally
  • Constipation.
  • Diarrhea
  • Sitting on the toilet for longer
  • Obesity
  • The pressure of the enlarged uterus on the rectum and anus during pregnancy.

Apart from that the low fiber diet, weakening of the anal canal due to old age and medicinal issues like colon cancer, rectal surgery and spinal cord injury can also cause piles.

How do I know if I have Piles or Not

Piles are sometimes for short term and heal themselves in less time but if it has not cured for long then you should check for the following symptoms

  • You have blood in your stools which is noticeable on tissues and toilet surfaces.
  • You have a slimy mucus discharge from the anus.
  • You can feel a hard and painful lump around your anus.
  • You often experience pain, itchiness, redness and soreness around the area of your anus.
  • You feel like passing stools again after going to the toilet.

The size of the piles can vary, so the symptoms can vary to different degrees of severity.

People avoid discussing Piles

Piles are a very common problem irrespective of age in today’s modern lifestyle.

When people get to know about their problem they hesitate to visit a doctor. They prefer to hide the truth from people around them and search everywhere on the internet to cure the problem at home.

I understand that people in our society find piles one of the funny topics but this is a serious problem. People feel embarrassed to confess that they are suffering from piles. They are scared to become a topic of amusement(laugh) between the people at public places.

Hiding a problem cannot cure a problem. Many people find it difficult to explain their problem to their health advisor. You need to discuss your problem with your doctor so that he can diagnose your problem well because sometimes the symptoms similar to piles can be an indication of a big problem.

Piles should be diagnosed to check for any other big problem. If there are no signs of any other problem then piles are curable with correct diet and meditation.

Piles can be cured Naturally

Piles are curable with the correct diet, lifestyle and Ayurveda. Surgery is required in severe piles, which is rare.
